How To Find Your Phone

Imagine it now. You’ve had a long and hard day of work, made your way home and realised that you’ve lost your phone or other device. I am sure many of us can sympathise with such occasions. There is nothing more frustrating. So, we want to give you a helping hand. Whether you have lost your phone, or just want to be prepared in case.

This blog will be split into multiple sections, sorted by different devices. So, if you are screaming the question of “where’s my phone?” You can give this a quick read and know what to do.

Find My iPhone:

If you are an Apple user, you may already be aware of the iCloud. Well, the iCloud Find My iPhone app is the first place you should definitely go to if you have lost an iPhone. There are a few things to keep in mind when it comes to iCloud. First is that you must have previously set up an iCloud account and have the lost device linked to that account. And don’t forget to keep your GPS on! Though this won’t mean much if you have lost your phone, it is important to keep in mind if you are simply preparing for the worst.

iCloud is always a useful thing to have ready. You can see where all of your products are on a single map, mark devices as lost to completely lock them, separation alerts. And services are being constantly being improved to make it easier to find your phone. Including tracking while your iPhone is of or has no connection.

As of 2021, there is also a new way to keep track of your products that are not Apple branded. How? Apple introduced the new Apple Air Tag to help you keep an eye on your favourite items. It’s as simple as attaching the tag to an item and linking that tag to your Apple ID.

Find My Phone Samsung:

Samsung too has a cloud system that makes it easy to keep a track of your lost phone, if such an occasion arrives. But just like iPhone, you need to make sure it is setup first. And it is super simple how to do so.

By going onto the settings of your Samsung device, look for the option called “Find My Mobile.” You can use the search bar if that makes it easier for you. Open the section and activate all of the settings that may interest you. What you want to do now is activate Samsung’s SmartThings Find. Go through all of the necessary and required steps and select the devices you want to find. Then you will be able to see your devices on a map!

If you have this set up and are looking for your lost phone, then the best place to go to is Samsung’s Find My Mobile on any device and log in to find your phone.

Find My Phone Google:

Google’s Find My Phone service is a great thing to have set up, no matter what device you are on. Whether you are on a Samsung, iPhone, OnePlus, Android phone, as long as you have access to Google, you can set up your account and find your phone if you ever lose it.

When you go into your Google Account, you can enter the security section and find the “Find My Phone” option under “Your Devices”. If you have this activated and linked already, then you can find your devices instantly! If not, then just follow the steps that Google gives you and you will be ready in no time.

If you do not have these ready to go already, then we recommend that you do so just in case. If you have lost your phone and don’t have any of these active, you should try ringing your service provider or the phone manufacturer to see if you can find it or shut down the phone and get a replacement.

Have any questions? Then why not leave a comment and we will try our best to give you an answer. All services mentioned in this short blog will have all of the information you need, so we recommend giving those a look too!
