2024 is here, and with it brings all new tech, gaming and computing releases! Although the year has barely started, there has already been some promising news when it comes to the mobile and tech world. So what is the next big thing in technology?

What new technology is coming out in 2024?
Switch 2:
It has been almost 7 years since the Nintendo Switch was released. Besides the OLED edition console which was released nearly 4 years ago, Nintendo gamers have been waiting patiently for an improved, updated console to be released. And it seems like 2024 will be the year of the Nintendo Switch comeback, with Nintendo switch 2 leaks dominating the gaming community recently. It is said the Switch 2 will be debuted within the second half of 2024, anywhere between July and December.
Originally demoed at Gamescom in August 2023, fans got a quick insight into what 2024 may hold for Nintendo. The new console, which will have an estimated price of $399 (approx. £314), will have improved joystick movements, WIFI connectivity and faster performance with gamers assuming the screen will have a new LCD panel.
At Gamescom, it was stated that ‘Nintendo are keen to launch the system as soon as possible’ and considering the Switch’s short hiatus, this doesn’t come as a surprise. We cannot wait to see what is to come in 2024 for the Switch 2 Nintendo console and we will be releasing continual updates on our socials when further information is released on this device.
Samsung Galaxy S24:
Another piece of anticipated tech for 2024 is the confirmed Samsung S24, releasing sometime between January and April. Announced around November 2023 the Samsung S24 is part of Sony’s S Series models, with the original releasing back in 2010. The device is set to be around 6.2” and the main focus around the tech will be aimed at the improved camera, with 50MP triple camera and 12MP front camera. It is rumoured the design of the Samsung Galaxy S24 will look similar to the iPhone, however, this is currently unconfirmed.
We are expecting Samsung to release further information in January 2024, when they hold their renowned Galaxy Unpacked Event, diving further into the phone's specs, features and official release date. Although currently unconfirmed, there is wide speculation that the Unpacked Event will be held around January 17th, with the release of the Samsung S24 following shortly after.

Ring Home Drone
Smart Tech has become a huge part of our lives within the last few years. And now it’s not only smartphones that are available. You can get your hands on smartwatches, smart lighting, smart heating and smart security like ring security camera outdoor, ring indoor security cameras and ring security camera wireless. And one of the biggest Smart Tech Security giants, Ring (founded in 2013), is back with a brand new piece of tech. Announced back in 2021, Ring debuted their first-ever Home Drone known as the Always Home Cam. This device will fly to different locations within your home whilst recording which can then be viewed inside the Ring app becoming your very own home office drone. No need to set up cameras in every corner of your home now, the Always Home Cam is your new personal security guard!
Although the tech was announced almost 3 years ago, there has been some promising movement in the development of the Always Home Cam. In 2023 at the Consumer Electronics Show, Ring showed off their new creation giving viewers a first-person look at what is to come. It is also believed although no official date has been confirmed, at the earliest the Drone will be available at the end of 2024 for around $249.99 (approx.. £197). Apple Vision Pro
Confirmed back in June 2023 to release sometime in 2024, the Apple Vision Pro will be Apple's first ever Virtual Reality headset, a new spatial computer that uses Virtual Reality to bring your tech to life in your living space. Control your phone, answer messages, and watch TV with your headset thanks to the Vision Pros multitude of cameras that track your eyes and hand movement.
Although no set release date has been given yet, it is believed that March 2024 is the hopeful arrival date with the tech pricing at around £3,000. Do you think the Apple Pro Vision will be worth it for that price?
World's First Rollable Phone
The final anticipated tech set for release in 2024 is the Vivo and Transsion Rollable Phone, the first smartphone in the world that will expand and roll out. To be released by the end of 2024, unlike an ordinary phone where the text goes down the screen, the Rollable Phone text will travel across the screen, growing larger to expand and include more text.
A rollable phone has been in talks for some time now, and after the success of the flip and folding phones from Samsung and other tech giants, it was time for a new phone to be released that was truly different. Once the Rollable Phone has been released end of 2024, it is expected that Samsung may follow creating a similar model to release in 2025.

- UNCONFIRMED Pholed televisions – Will use the principle of phosphorescence to create higher efficiencies than florescent OLEDS.
- UNCONFIRMED Apple Folding iPad – Taking on the popularity of folding phones. The Foldable iPad will double the screen size of a normal iPad.
- UNCONFIRMED Triple Folding Samsung Phone - Like the current fold phone however will open out 3 times into a small tablet.
