What will Apple Vision Pro cost?

Apple unveiled their upcoming "mixed reality" headset, the Apple Vision Pro, on June 5^th at the WWDC. Priced at $3,499, and with the device being confirmed to release in the USA in February 2024 (Apple Vision Pro pre-order date set as January 19th), we cannot wait to see what new features this tech holds!

What are features of Apple Vision Pro?

• Enclosure:

The Vision Pro features a unified piece of three-dimensional laminated glass seamlessly merging with an aluminium alloy frame that gracefully curves around the user's face. The enclosure contains 100% recycled aluminium with a 3d formed, laminated glass front gently curving across the face.

• Cameras and Sensors:

Integrated throughout the headset, an array of advanced cameras and sensors work harmoniously to provide users with a clear view of the world. Specifically, the device offers 5 sensors, 6 microphones and 12 cameras. These cameras also enable the device to perceive and interpret the surrounding environment, as well as detect hand gestures. Apple has described the Apple Vision Pro as 'Apple's first 3D camera'.

• Audio Straps:

Positioned near the user's ears, the speakers allow audio to blend seamlessly with the real-world surroundings, fostering an immersive and interactive environment. All materials chosen for this device have been carefully considered to make the Vision Pro as 'wearable' as possible.

• Light Seal:

Designed to fit snugly around the user's head, the Vision Pro includes an adjustable head strap for optimal comfort. It also incorporates a light seal meticulously engineered to block out external light sources, ensuring an engaging and uninterrupted experience. To block out light, the device gently conforms to your face to create a precise fit around your head. It's amazing because this material is flexible, it will fit around any player's head.

• Digital Crown:

Introducing the Digital Crown. Also available on the Apple Watch, this feature allows users to interact with the system, adjust volume, open accessibility settings, exit an app and more. It is a small circular switch that can be twisted to empower users to control their level of immersion within different environments on the Vision Pro.

• Spatial Photos:

In addition to its capabilities, the Vision Pro enables users to capture spatial photos of their surroundings, allowing them to preserve the moment through video and photographic images. It is a new era of spatial computing.

Will there be an Apple Vision Pro 2?

It is believed that a second Apple Vision Pro headset will eventually be in the works, however, this will be completely dependent on the success of the Apple Vision Pro, and if the public would be interested in another device. Considering this tech is named the Apple Vision PRO, we believe that if a second headset was made, it would be a less advanced version, taking away the PRO aspect. Possibly, this new device would be slighter cheaper with less advanced screening and display. If this new headset is put into creation, we won't see it until late 2025 early 2026 at the earliest. 

 With the Vision Pro, users will be able to experience an expansive canvas that revolutionizes the way they interact with their favourite apps. It offers the freedom to arrange applications anywhere on the screen and adjust their size to achieve the perfect workspace, all while remaining fully aware of the surrounding environment.
