How does this new model compare to previous versions?

Surface Laptop 2 features a faster 8th Generation Intel Core processor, compared to the previous model's 7th Generation processor. The luxurious Alcantara material covering is retained from the previous model, but it's now available in matte black.

Its Signature Alcantara® covered keyboard and palm rest provide luxury warmth and feel when you type. It is specially treated to resist spills, stains and absorption, and can be wiped clean. The Surface Laptop 2 has a compact aluminium shell for lightweight strength.

Boasting a resolution of 2256 x 1504 (201ppi) to guarantee photos, videos and documents on the vibrant 13.5-inch PixelSense™ display with interactive touchscreen appears bright and easy to read. The Surface Laptop 2 features Corning® Gorilla® Glass 3 to protect the screen. It's also compatible with Microsoft Surface Pro Pen (available to purchase separately), giving you precision control when writing or drawing.
