PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

The HT-A9 brings a new level of surround sound to the living room. Using four physical speakers that can be placed in a versatile layout, Sony's 360 Spatial Sound Mapping technology creates up to 12 'phantom' speakers around the room, completely enveloping you in immersive sound, like you're there in the scene of what you're watching.

360 Spatial Sound Mapping
Surrounded on all sides by multiple 'phantom' speakers within an optimised Dolby Atmos and DTS:X sound field, you can hear every element of the film, positioned all around you, and even overhead, thanks to up-firing speakers. So the sound field encompasses a much wider space than usual, not being limited to the front of the TV. There's no need to rearrange your furniture or precisely position the speakers, the HT-A9 uses dual microphones in each speaker to measure their relative height and position, allowing the system to generate twelve 'phantom' speakers that encircle your room for immersive spatial sound.

Easy set up
The control box of the HT-A9 sits near your TV, linking to it via HDMI cable. The four speakers connect wirelessly to the control box so there's no cables stretching across the room (each speaker still requires connection to a mains power source of course).

Expandable, with Sound Field Optimisation
The HT-A9 is compatible with Sony's SA-SW5 and SA-SW3 sub-woofers, for even greater level of bass depth (both sold separately). Whether you have an additional sub-woofer added or not, the HT-A9 uses Sound Field Optimization to intelligently measure and optimise the sound for the room it's in.

High Resolution Audio
High Resolution Audio means studio quality sound, just as the artist originally intended. Based on encoding and playback at a higher sampling rate than standard, high and low frequencies are extended for a greater level of detail across the whole sonic range.

Bluetooth & Wi-Fi
